SMS Regensburg In 1912, the Imperial German Navy began construction of two light cruisers to supplement their growing naval force. The Graudenz and the Regensburg were fairly typical of the day; 468 feet (143 meters) in length and carrying twelve 10.5 centimeter (4 inch) guns.

Regensburg served in the Reichsmarine after the end of the war, through 1919. She was stricken from the naval register on 10 March 1920 and placed out of service.
